Well, breaking news for Bourne and “Bourne” fans alike — he’s not dead yet.
Matt Damon has confirmed that the rumors are true: Jason Bourne lives! The Oscar-winning actor will reprise his role as the rogue Treadstone assassin in a new “Bourne” movie, once again directed by Paul Greengrass, and slated to arrive at some point in 2016.
The news broke by way of an E! Online red carpet interview with both Damon and his longtime buddy and collaborator, Ben Affleck, who plays Batman in 2016′s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.”
“Well, [Damon's] going to be doing a Bourne movie next fall,” said Affleck, with Damon chiming in to confirm that the rumors are true.
“Yes, next year,” he said. “It’ll be in 2016 when the movie will actually come out. [Director] Paul Greengrass is going to do another one and that’s all I ever said. I just needed him to say yes.”
There you have it: Bourne lives! He’s coming back! He hasn’t forgotten about us!
